Team Profile

The Power and Renewables Research Team is a highly respected group of analysts producing market-leading research on the entire renewable energy value chain, covering onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage and power markets. Our cutting-edge knowledge of renewable supply chains, costs, deployments, and investment trends further strengthens Wood Mackenzie's offerings in the market during this rapidly changing time in the energy sector.

Role Purpose

We are looking for an Energy Storage Research Analyst to join Wood Mackenzie’s Power & Renewables team in Europe. The research analyst will join the growing energy storage team, helping track the market and build insights for our clients. The analyst will be responsible for market research on Energy Storage markets across the EMEA region. Responsibilities will include conducting original quantitative and qualitative research on the market, and delivering this analysis to clients through written reports, presentations, public speaking, addressing specific customer enquiries and through the delivery of bespoke consulting engagements. You will help with expanding our regional energy storage research using analytical or quantitative tools to better understand the role of grid-scale and distributed energy storage assets in EMEA. You will aggregate and summarise project level datasets, track energy storage market activity, develop financial models and forecast storage installation volumes and pricing trends.

You will build strong ties with key industry stakeholders and engage with clients and prospects in collaboration with our sales team. You will collaborate with other Wood Mackenzie analysts covering storage across the globe, as well as those covering power markets and other renewable technologies and commodities in the region to ensure our analysis is robust, integrated and thought-provoking.


Qualifications


Knowledge and Experience

You are passionate about renewable energy and come with strong knowledge and experience of the sector – ideally with a background in energy storage industry in a commercial environment, with knowledge of markets in the EMEA region. You have strong networking skills and can show that you can develop relationships with key industry stakeholders

You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, can think out of the box and generate new ideas, and you are comfortable taking complex, disparate ideas and distilling them into simple, provocative concepts. You can communicate these ideas and concepts to audiences in an engaging way, both verbally and in writing.

You are a strong team player and a natural self-starter who can work independently. You are comfortable disrupting your routine as you will be constantly looking to learn and provide in-depth analysis on industry trends and innovative market dynamics.
